Services

AMICUS Community Integration and Family Support programs and services provide care for individuals who need assistance with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (i.e. light house duties, meal preparation, errands, medication administration, management, and monitoring, doctors’ appointments) and Activities of Daily Living (i.e. ambulation, bathing, incontinence, dressing, feeding, and transfers) due to an intellectual, developmental or cognitive disability as each individual we serve is unique.

Our friendly approach is based on person-centered principles that every individual receiving services has an active role in creating their service plans. AMICUS team up with the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services, case managers, families or guardians, behavioral clinicians, psychiatrists, and direct support professionals to develop a plan that allows individuals we serve to gain their independence while living their dreams in their chosen communities

Client Support

We work with adults and children to support their journey towards a more independent lifestyle grounded in relationships. Our support services include communication skill development and behavioral support to help each individual form important relationships with friends, family and other people.

Tailored Services

With increased independence comes a greater need for awareness. For adults and children with intellectual disabilities, they often rely on their caregivers to help them better understand these situations. The goal is to help them reach a competency level at which they can interact in everyday situations more independently. We provide solutions tailored to your loved one's individual needs.

Our programs and services for the individuals we serve do the following:

  • Protect their rights
  • Maintain their health and safety
  • Guarantee respect and protection for the individual
  • Enhance quality of life
  • Share in their costs
  • Choose their housemate(s)
  • Work in their community
  • Play in their community
  • Choose their community and possibly ensuring the safest environment
  • Encourage and support individuals with life choices that foster and enhance their independence.
